SO good. i paid 25$ from the relapse catalog when i was lke 15 and have been a fan ever since. Actually when i first got it i was like WTF IS THIS.. but it grew on me and i broadened my horizons and listened to other crap besides ultra brutal death metal and this became my fave

This album was in my hands several years ago, almost 30 I would say, 1996 or so. I discovered this kind of music thanks to a friend who did introduce me to this kind of music. I do still like this kind of style and thanks Griganchola to shar.e it.

They beat opeth . I guess you could call them kings of this style within avant garde dm. Opeth gets boring this may be less complex but it's more engaging and heavier yet soothing.

I’m only 20 and I found out about this band in my teens. I was learning about the history of metal and read that these guys influenced both doom and power metal. What a legacy to have! I’ve shown this album to my best friend and my little brother and they both loved it. I’m glad to keep the memory of this band alive for another generation, even if most people my age haven’t heard of them.
You Carry the Flame, young apprentice! ⚔️ The 80's bore out much metal! Bands like this, and the Mighty Voïvöd, Saxon and Manilla Road were there as the foundation of Metal! Other bands are bigger and richer, but they sold out! Rock On, young Warrior! ⚔️
I found out about this band in my late 20s about 10 years ago
keep spreading the word my dude, me and my friends got into Cirith Ungol, Omen, Manilla Road and all the epic Heavy Metal bands thanks to the internet and underground fanzines in the late 2000, i was 17 in 2009 when i discovered "King Of The Dead" and i did the same that you did with my then thrash-obssesed friends... now this is the soundtrack of our lives!!! long live heavy metal.
A more recent band you might enjoy is visigoth, they have this 80s metal feel, and the lyrics are also about fantasy, The Witcher, Dungeons and Dragons, Dark Souls
